After a few delays due to COVID-19 restrictions, our new Greengauge woven carpet green was completed by Sports Build (a Queensland company) and players were keen to try it out at our opening game.
Bowls President Joe Issell welcomed four of our life members - Claire Crameri, Kevin McCormack, Geoff Grigg and Don Mariager, with Kevin, Geoff and Don rolling the first jack/bowls on the new surface.
Joe made mention and thanked of a number of volunteer members who worked throughout the build, taking on the numerous tasks required during construction.
Our Saturday Pennant Divisions then played an intraclub practice match throughout the afternoon.
