In his second final for the week, Jos Bedem played Vin O'Flaherty in the Men's Veterans Championship on Tuesday 11th February after Pennant.
Both men displayed their skill at draw bowling, but Vin had the closest bowl more often, taking the win.
Congratulations to Vin
The final of the Championship Minor Singles was played on Sunday 9th February between Jos Bedem and Effie Wake. In fine, albeit windy, conditions Jos got out to a good lead. However Effie steadied to bring her score to within a few shots before Jos played a couple of good ends to secure the win.
Congratulations to Jos
The finalists of both our Men's and Women's Club Championship Singles played off on Friday 3rd January 2020 with many club members watching on. Daryl was dominant in his game against Peter Anderson and got out to a big lead. Peter had played well in the semi to earn himself a place in the final and rallied later in the game to make up some ground. However, Daryl scored the last few points he needed for the win. The women's game between Sandra Skene and Tracey Bedem was more of a battle with each player taking the lead throughout. Scores were locked at 19 all but Sandra managed to pull away to take the win.
Congratulations to our new Club Champions; Sandra Skene and Daryl Kitchin
After what seems like an eternity of cold & wet weather, Sunday 8th December was a perfect, warm day for bowling.
The final of the club Women's Pairs (previously delayed) was played with the two finalist pairs of Corry Hooiveld & Sandra Skene against Lauryn Plant & Elaine Rosser.
Corry & Sandra managed to get a jump on their opposition, scoring well in the first few ends & continued to hold their lead, winning well.
Congratulations to Corry & Sandra.
The final of the Men's Championship Pairs was played on Sunday 27th October. The combination of Joe Issell and Ashley Prosser met Colin Hibberd and David Burns. Joe & Ash got out to a handy lead, but Col & David managed to reel them in a little midway through the game. However they couldn't make up the deficit and didn't manage to score the big number they needed on the last end to survive. Congratulations to Joe & Ash who played well during the competition.
