Members filled the seats around the green to watch the 2018-19 Men's Championship Singles and Women's Championship Singles games played Sunday 6th January 2019 at 2.00pm. They witnessed some precision bowling & worthy battles before both winners pulled ahead to secure the win. Gary Banks defeated Geoff Grigg and Karen Harrington defeated Elaine Rosser. This is Karen's 5th Club Champion win and Gary's 3rd (his first title won in 1994-5). Both will go through to the Champion of Champions event to play against all other GBR club Champions. Good luck! Women's CofC: 17th Feb 2019 at Torquay - 2 KO rounds & Rd 3 24th Feb with final at Eastern Park on 3rd March. Men's CofC: 24th Feb 2019 at Eastern Park - 2 KO rounds & Rd 3 28th Feb 5pm with final at Eastern Park on 3rd March.
The last of the club Championships was the open triples, played on 7th April. The team of Tracey Bedem, Jos Bedem and Gavin Williamson got out to a 10-1 lead, and was looking grim for Lindsay Harrington, Rob Aitken and Michael Wake. However, the Wake team caught up and was tied on the last end, forcing an extra end. Congratulations to Lindsay/Rob/Mick on securing the win.
The final of the Club Mixed Pairs Championship was played on a beautiful Torquay morning, Sunday 24th March. Spectators were treated to a display of great bowling by both teams; Karen Harrington & Alan Sampson vs Janice Pekin & Robert Grubb. It was a close fought match, with Kas & Alan securing the win.
It was a very close match for the 100-up Handicap Singles Final with Michael Wake defeating Wally Wiener 103 to 102. Post: 15/3/19

The winner of the Men's Veterans Singles Championship was Alan Sampson, with Vin O'Flaherty runner-up Alan went on the play 5 rounds of GBR Veterans Singles Championship at Clifton Springs in March, winning the event. Congratulations.
The final of the Women's Championship Pairs was played on Sunday 25th November between Janice Pekin & Karen Harrington and Effie Wake & Eileen Williams. Effie & Tiger got off to a flying start, securing the first 4 ends & scoring 7 before Janice & Kas earned a single shot next end, then a 3 on the 7th end. Down 4-11, Janice & Kas dug in & won the next 5 ends to even the score to 11-11. At the final 15th end it was 13-13 and an extra end required. Effie & Tiger had game, holding 1 touching shot, but a drive from Kas brought the jack out & forward to secure the win, after 3 hours of play. Well done to both teams.
The final of the Men's Championship Pairs was played on Sunday 4th November. The combination of Tim Jenkinson and Daryl Kitchin met Gavin Williamson & Ken McIntyre. Tim & Daryl opened their account with 3 singles on the first 3 ends, however Gavin & Ken were soon in front and had a good lead half way through. Tim & Daryl came back at them to within reach with a few ends to go and were holding game in the last end before Gavin & Ken ended up with a win.
