GBR Selection Committees select players from GBR clubs to contest the annual Men's Whykes Shield and the Women's Elaine Webster/Valerie Page Shields against Ballart Highlands Bowls Region. This year the event was in the Ballarat district and was played at Victoria Bowling Club on Sunday 29th October, 2023.
Congratulations to all players selected to play in the squads of 24 - including three Torquay players: Kas Harrington, Sandra Skene & Joe Issell.
The GBR Men were successful in retaining the Whykes Shield again this year with composite scores of 85-77 and 85-81 in the two games. Our Women also retained the Elaine Webster Shield with a 96-74 win in the second game, with Ballarat Region winning the first game 91-87 for the Valerie Page Shield.
